This study analyses a documentary corpus consisting of a collection (Pocket Books) written by a Spaniard - Corín Tellado - that circulated widely in Brazil in the 1960s and 1970s. This analysis views these as literature, both in terms of material support and literary devices, with the aim of mapping joint data of moral rules and prescribed behaviours that make up the repertoire of the civility of a certain period. The search for these languages seems to be charged with knowledge relating to the production of other forms of sensitivity and emotions disregarded for a long time by historians involved in the rational and scientific contributions inaugurated by Modernity.
