For the past few years, the literary genre of romance, which was previously unknown and depreciated in France, has become increasingly popular. Today, romance is everywhere. In our supermarkets, our bookshops, and also in the subway or advertisements. However, What role does romance play in libraries ? Although romance could win its readers' hearts, we find that it struggles to find its place in libraries. After an investigation on the ground and interviews with librarians and readers about that question, this study will try to understand the integration of romantic literature in professional and physical networks within libraries, and also in symbolic networks linked to the readers who are confronted with these literatures of genre and their representations. We will also take in account the changings in the librarians' missions whose mediation of romance is revealing.
