Most of this is part of a contemporary romance novel titled Southern Charmed. There is a short introduction which is non-fiction: the

critical preface to Southern Charmed will discuss the rise of the romance novel in popular culture, traditions and formulas of the romance novel, feminist criticism of the romance novel, legitimizing contemporary romance as a genre, queer romance, the happily ever after, taking back the romance novel, and the future of Southern Charmed. I have submitted the first act, roughly eighty pages, of Southern Charmed as my M.A. creative thesis here. (2)

Since the preface is around 20 pages and covers all these topics, the coverage of each is very brief, so I have not included tags for the topics. I've included this as an entry primarily because it may be of use to scholars assessing the frequency/popularity of romance scholarship as a dissertation/thesis topic (though I believe I have almost certainly failed to discover some dissertations/theses).
