The paper discusses selected problems of translation of the romance genre: they include paratextual elements, diminutives and titles of nobility as forms of address in Barbara Cartland’s romance novel Bewitched and its translation into the Lithuanian language by Edmundas Juškevičius „Meilės kerai“. This paper is divided into four parts. Part One is an introduction and presents facts about Barbara Cartland‘s live. Part Two provides the theoretical approach to the romance genre and defines the romance novel specifically. Then, it includes consideration of the generic and stylistic specificity of the genre and the main translation problems. Part Three is divided into three sections and concentrates on the theoretical framework of the selected problems of translation of Barbara Cartland’s romance novel Bewitched into Lithuanian „Meilės kerai“. The problems selected for the present analyses include problems related to the peritextual elements of the romance novel, more specifically, the transformation of the book front cover in translation. Also, the subsection of Part Three focuses on the formation and function of a diminutive as well as their translation into the Lithuanian language. The last subsection of discusses the theoretical interpretation of forms of address. In fact, it focuses on the analysis of the titles of nobility as forms of address in conversations grounding on Laura Wallace ideas. Part Four is conclusions. Also, there are five Appendixes. Appendix A gives a plot summary of Barbara Cartland’s romance novel Bewitched. Appendix B gives a list of Barbara Cartland’s romances that do not correspond to the theory on book covers design presented by Jennifer McKnight-Trontz. Appendix C and Appendix D provides book covers of the romance novel Bewitched published by Corgi Books and Bantam Books and its translation into Lithuanian by DAJALITA and Alma littera. Appendix E provides the translation of the book cover Music is the Soul of Love by Barbara Cartland into Lithuanian „Meilės muzika“.
