I began teaching with the creative writing program at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Continuing Education in 2021. It was an opportunity to help expand offerings in genre fiction, namely science fiction and fantasy, as well as mystery fiction. In 2023, we piloted the first fanfiction and franchise writing course as a way to expand our genre offerings. In 2024, I proposed a course in writing romance and erotic fiction. (1)
