Unfortunately I have only been able to see this via snippet view. However, it is clear that that it does include discussion of romance fiction. According to Thompson, Koski and Holyfield (1997):

Of romance writers, Cantor (1989:103) concluded that romance writers "are culture bearers . . . [and] write fiction that is psychologically liberating but socially regressive." Even if writers wanted to be agents of social change, Cantor argued, they are constrained by a male-dominated system of commercial, "manufactured" fiction. (439)
