Huq is discussing a wide range of texts and even within the section on novels there are more kinds than just "romantic fiction". I couldn't work out if any of the titles discussed in more detail had happy endings.There is also passing mention of students studying in English reading Harlequins/Mills & Boons and Sweet Valley High.
