The fundamental lack of cross-linguistic spatial analysis by book historians becomes obvious when we concern ourselves with the structural changes of contemporary publishing. Globalization is plainly a misnomer for what is happening in the world publishing industry today. A study of its true nature will offer theoretical perspectives on relations in space and time that are cognizant of these trajectories of power and agency of which Harlequin’s translations in Sweden are a small sample.
